Durban - The Grade 11 pupil who was shot to death in Amanzimtoti last week, allegedly by a jealous husband, was apparently having an affair with the man’s wife.
The husband, a teacher, allegedly found out that his wife, also a teacher, was having a relationship with Siphesihle Kheswa, 20, and that he was living at their house during the week, reported the Daily News.
The husband apparently only came home over weekends, when Kheswa would return to his home.
Kheswa was shot three times and the wife was shot in the legs but survived the shooting.
The young man’s aunt said that he had been asked to stay with a neighbour because the family’s one-roomed shack was too small. His mother had died in 1999 and he’d never known his father.
Kheswa told them he had made another plan and they thought he was living with a friend.
The education department said it was launching an investigation into the matter.
